This custom walnut and white lacquer modern kitchen replaced the basic builder model in this new condo. By extending the side wall one foot and using European sized integrated appliances, an L-shaped layout was created providing much more working space. The island was slightly enlarged and a waterfall style white quartz countertop was added. The open shelving was used on the side wall over the sink to keep this modern kitchen feeling open. Counter to ceiling oversized white texture tiles add shimmer and texture. The white lacquer upper cabinets have European hinges swinging up for more efficiency. The flat panelled doors , minimal hardware and integrated appliances create a clean, streamlined look matching the design of the rest of the open living space. This modern kitchen won gold in the kitchen category of the Canadian Decorator’s annual design competition in 2013.
