Modern Farmhouse Kitchen
A dark and dreary kitchen now is a bright farmhouse kitchen! Upper cupboards were removed on one wall, an additional window was added over the sink, bright white handmade subway tiles, lighter cabinetry and lots of additional light fixtures all combined to achieve a fresh new look. The footprint remained basically the same as there wasn’t a lot of options. An island replaced the table, allowing for double the counter space and extra storage, while still enabling five people to sit around comfortably. A beautiful antiqued countertop of Calacutta quartzite has the look of marble but the hardness of granite. Pullouts and a multitude of drawers make this kitchen function well. A stainless tambour door rolls up to reveal a coffee station and storage for all the accessories. Open shelving allows display and enables guests to easily find dish ware to help themselves. This modern farmhouse kitchen deserves to get out of the country!
