Otta Decorate! is an award winning interior decorating firm that specializes in smaller spaces, but can expertly tackle challenges both big or small.

Mary Anne van Gaal, the principal and accredited interior decorator, believes in the philosophy of the renowned architect Sarah Susanka that “it is not the size of a house that makes it great, but the special details and wise use of space that make a home a delight to live in.” By regularly attending design shows in Toronto and New York, and subscribing to countless interior design magazines and blogs, Mary Anne stays current with design trends and new products. Her extensive travels provide inspiration for her designs, which she describes as “just a little bit outside the box”. Her aesthetic is to mix styles so that a room appears to have evolved over time and incorporate personal, meaningful objects that her clients have acquired throughout their lives. She understands that every client is unique and that it is important to listen very carefully to each ones needs, thus her motto “your space, your style”.

Mary Anne is an honours graduate of the Residential Decor program at Algonquin College and a member of the Ottawa Design Network Group (ODNG). She is also a contributing member to the TBBs Wine, Dine and Design blog.
